Yaoundé, also known as the City of the Seven Hills, is the political capital of Cameroon. It has a population of 2,8 million inhabitants, and it is the second largest city in the country after Douala. It lies in the centre of the nation at an elevation of about 750 metres (2,500 ft) above sea level.
